Session Name: With Wikis, It's a Small World
Presenter Name(s): Lori Bathurst
School or District: Washington Township School District; Gloucester County
About this session: Do you want your students to collaborate and problem solve? Visit to discover how wikis get kids talking about what you're teaching - no matter their age or the topic. Table 3 will provide a variety of ways that wikis can be implemented, especially in the Social Studies and Language Arts areas. Wikis work great for on-line literature circles in the Language Arts Literacy area. Within Social Studies, they can be utilized regardless of the historical era or content area you are teaching. Wikis are also the perfect tool to get your students talking about global affairs. You'll leave our table with concrete ideas of ways wikis enrich the lives of students by engaging them in real-world applications and developing their twenty-first century skills.
